Advocating for Native Voices
Founded in 1961
Founded in Gallup, NM and are currently the 2nd oldest WIOA Program. NIYC has been a pioneering advocate for Native American rights, emphasizing sovereignty and self-determination.
1972
NIYC secured a workforce grant with the Department of Labor, establishing a long-term partnership that has supported countless Native Americans in workforce development and employment opportunities.
1975
The year the Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act was enacted, a significant milestone that NIYC supported, empowering Native communities to manage their own educational programs and services.
To Today
NIYC exceeded its service target of 337 participants in its programs, a testament to the organization's growing impact and effectiveness in serving the Native community.
